The works included reshaping shingle beaches, clearing boat launching ramps, and restoring areas where beach material had built up or eroded away over time. In some locations, bad weather had moved large rocks and shingle, which were carefully put back into safe, stable positions to reduce any risk to beach users.
During the summer works, the focus was on creating smoother, more accessible beach profiles and maintaining clear access routes. Boat ramps were cleared of shingle and surrounding areas were regraded to ensure safe and easy use.
The winter works focused on shaping the beach to better protect the coastline during rougher weather. Shingle was moved to form stronger beach ridges that help reduce the impact of storms, while still blending in with the natural shape of the beach. All work was carried out using material already on site, with no shingle brought in or taken away.
Throughout the works, careful attention was given to public safety and the surrounding beach environment. On completion, all areas were left safe, tidy, and fully accessible to the public.
